The Working Party on the 7th December 2019

The last working party of 2019: the regulars turned out in force, and we also welcomed Elya, a newcomer to the area.

We were lucky with the weather this time. November's working party had been rained off.

There was plenty of work as usual, mostly cutting back bramble and scrub....

....Ian and Adam hauled a mass of rusty fencing away for collection.

Scything began down in the reed bed.

There was time for elevenses: coffee and mince pies kindly supplied and hosted by Carole.

....and supporting a fence.

Each year we cut the reeds over a third of the area, to allow us to keep the brambles in check.
